Registration
Registration for the 2012 Spring Hat League will begin on March 5th. Spring Hat League is our most popular league and registration is on a first come first serve basis. The league can fill up extremely quickly, spots for men in the weeknight division fill up especially quickly often within the first hour. To alleviate some of the traffic we are going to open registration to men first at 5pm, and then open it to women at 6pm. Registration will close Monday march 19st at 5pm. Anyone who has registered but not completed payment by the time registration closes will not be put on a team.
T-Shirt Design Competition
This year's theme is Dessert Oasis - yes that is Dessert as in cake and ice cream. For the league T-shirts we are running a design competition. All submission will be posted on the BUDA Facebook page and voting can be done by liking the individual photos. Please read the Design Competition Rules and Guidelines for complete details.
Dates/Locations
Once again the weeknight league will run on Monday and Wednesday nights at English HS, in Jamaica Plain, starting Monday April 2th. We will also have a small Friday night league at JP. Preference will be given to people who did not get into the Monday/Wednesday league. However you may sign up for both this league and another league.
The weekend league will be on Sundays starting April 1st, at Adams Field in Lexington as per last year.
The tournament is tentatively scheduled for Saturday May 19th, at Roger's Field in Deven's MA.
The captains meeting will be on Wednesday March 28th from 7-9pm. Location will hopefully be Doyle's but is not confirmed yet.
No Draft this season
I know some of you will be sad to hear that there is not going to be a draft as part of spring league this season. This does not mean that we have given up on the idea, but the committee had some concerns with the draft process and without any satisfactory solution we decided it was better to not do a draft at this time. Over the next year we are going to take a look at the hat league rating system to try and make some improvements there, which will address some of our concerns.
