Donnelly Fields, Cambridge

behind 850 Cambridge Street, the Harrington School, Cambridge, MA 02141 USA

The field is on Cambridge Street (which runs between the end of Memorial Drive and Harvard Square), just west of the Lechmere "T" Station and the Galleria mall.
From Route 2 (Alewife)
When you get to the end of Route 2 you will want to be in the left lane
(start to get in the left when you pass the old Faces club).
You will bear LEFT onto Rte 16 East towards Medford
and then bear left onto Alewife Brook Pkwy.
Take your first RIGHT onto Mass. Ave.
Stay on Mass Ave. for about 1.2 miles and then take a LEFT onto Somerville Ave.
(You will see Dunkin' Donuts and Uno’s on the left , you will see this funky windmill thing —
it is about 50 feet tall and is red and there will be a T station on your right when you take the turn.
At the next light (about 1000 feet) you will take a RIGHT onto Beacon St.
Stay to the left when you go over the bridge.
Beacon St. turns into Hampshire St.
You will be on Beacon/Hampshire for a couple of miles.
Turn LEFT at light onto Cambridge St.
You will have to pay attention here because the sign is hard to see –
keep your eye open for Cambridge Savings bank – it is on the left side,
but when you take the turn it will be on the right.
There is also a Fire Station (it is a big brick building)
on the other side of the lights that you are going to take a left at,
so if you go by it, turn around.
Take a RIGHT at Cardinal Medeiros Ave. (about 1 mile) —
the turn is right after Berkshire St. (one way).
Turn RIGHT onto Marney St. — the field will be right in front of you.
Turn RIGHT onto Berkshire
You may have to park on the street, but there was a teachers parking lot there,
but it had a gate and we are not sure if they will close it at night.

Hoyt Field, Cambridge

Simple, Easy to Follow

From Central Square Red Line T-Stop:
Take Western Ave towards the river .3 miles, turn left onto Gilmore or Montague streets

From Mass Pike or Storrow Drive or Memorial Drive:
Take River Street (one way) towards Central Square
Left onto Howard Street
Left onto Western Ave
Left onto Gilmore or Montague

OR
Take River Street (one way) towards Central Square
Left onto Putnam Right onto Ballord Place (just before Western Ave)

More complex, but more detailed

Even though it's right between major streets in Cambridge (Western and River), beware, you can't see if from those streets. The easiest way to get there -- from Memorial Drive, turn east onto River St (left turn if you're coming from Harvard and the burbs, right turn if you're coming from MIT/Boston). Going East on River St., take your 2nd left onto Putnam. Then, take your next right onto a tiny street, which will take you to the park.

Alternatively, if you're coming from Mass Ave, head South on Prospect (towards the River). Stay towards the right on Prospect, which will become Western Ave. Go 7 or so blocks on Western, past Jay St. and Howard St. At the next small street, Gillmore or Bancroft, go left. That will take you to the park. If you miss these streets and hit Putman, go left and take your first left to get to the park. If you hit Memorial Drive, you've gone too far.
